* Superstructures (II)

corridor (wall) The two corridors along the hull are symetrics. Only the port corridor (on the left) is described.

The walls of the corridor are formed at the bottom by two angle girders of 49 holes (7) joined on one side by a flat girder of 3 holes (103h). On the other side of the angle girders, and at one hole from the edge, are fixed (in this order) a plastic plate of 11x5 holes (194e), a plastic plate of 9x5 holes (194c) overlaped by the previous plate on 2 holes, and a flexible plate of 11x5 holes (192) separated from the plate 194c by 3 holes. Three strips of 5 holes (5) fill this separation; however, the upper strip is shifted by 1 hole with the two others, and thus is not fixed to the plate 194c. This is due to the angle girder which crosses the model (see the figure cargo13e.jpg underneath the structures, near the life-boat: the strip 5 which is shifted can be seen in the lower left corner).

Finally, four strips of 5 holes (5) fixed vertically strenghten the plastic and the flexible plates. Moreover, the top of the plastic plates is reinforced by an angle girder of 15 holes (8b) and an angle girder of 7 holes (9b) which overlap on 2 holes.

This set is fixed to the model by the points D to G, located on the other figures.

corridor -- front corridor -- back(1) The front of the corridor is fixed to the point D to an angle girder of 25 holes (8) crossing the model. Also, on this angle grider is screwed an angle girder of 4 holes (9e) which supports an angle girder of 19 holes (8a) parallel to the angle girder 8. The angle girder 9e has also the fixation point E.

On this figure are indicated as well a flat girder of 19 holes (103a) put on a double angle strip of 3 holes (48); this falt grider simulating the roof of the corridor is decorative, and is barely seen from the outside.

floor of the corridor -- back The back of the corridor is connected to the rear deck by a stairway made of an angle girder of 4 holes (9e) and two angle girders of 3 holes (9f). Only the angle grider 9e is fixed to the model with the angle girder of 37 holes (7a) along the central part of the cargo-boat.

The floor of the corridor is made of a flat girder of 11 holes (103) and a flat girder of 25 holes (103b) fixed to two flat girders of 5 holes (103f) themselves fixed to an angle girder of 37 holes (7a) going along the hull. Moreover, those flat girders support the lower part of the corridor's wall at the points F and G.

Also on the figure can be seen the fixation point I of the plate 192 which is part of the corridor.

floor of the corridor -- front floor of the corridor -- front (detail) The flat girder 103b is held at the front to a strip of 5 holes (5) fixed to the angle girder 7a. The end of the flat girder 103b supports a strip of 5 holes (5) and a flat girder of 9 holes (103c). Moreover, this flat girder is fixed to a double angle strip of 3 holes (48).

The plastic plate of 11x5 holes (194c) allows to hide imperfections of the corridor.
