Superstructures

The edge at the back is formed by two flexible plates of 5x9 holes
(191). Those two plates are joined at the
bottom by a strip of 5 holes (5) as shown by
detail B. The bolts B are
bolts of 12mm (111a) that hold a
coupling (63) against the plates
191; the bolt A
is a bolt of 12mm (111a), and allows to maintain
the coupling 63 against the horizontal flexible
plates formed by a flexible plate of 5x5 holes
(190) and two flexible plates of 11x5 holes
(192). Finally, a rectangle of angle girders
strengtens the structure to avoid it collapses because of the weight
of the funnel; this rectangle is made of an angle girder of 15 holes
(8b) held between the coupling
63 and the plate 190
bis the bolt A, of two angle girders
of 5 holes (9d) on the sides, and two
angle girders of 11 holes (9) which overlap
on 5 holes for the base. Those latter angle girders are fixed
on each side to two angle girders of 37
holes (7a; those angle girders are part of the
corridor along the hull, whose structure is explained farther).
Finally, each end of the flat girder of 15 holes (103k) are held against to an angle girder of 4 holes (9e) by a flat girder of 2 holes (103l). The angle girders 9e are fixed to angle girders of 25 holes (8) by bolts that are not fully screwed. Otherwise, the lower angle grider 8 is not well arranged on the model: it should be turned towards the bottom, not towards the top. The H point is the fixation point for the superstructure of the corridor.
The structure next to the life-boats is modified as shown on the two
opposite figures. A special strip of 5 holes
(6), a flat girder of 4 holes
(103g) and a strip of 5 holes
(5) are fixed to the upper angle grider
(9 and 8b). A
flat girder of 2 holes (103l) fixed
on the strip 5 allows to hold two
double angle strips of 11 holes (48d);
the bolts are not fully screwed. At last, a flat girder of 5 holes
(103f) is horizontally fixed to the
strips located along the life-boat.
